Blog 2 BLING!
A curiosity-fueled path to the online business only YOU can build
Has something felt “off” with the online business advice you’ve received?
The basic gist is usually, “follow these exact steps, and you’ll have yourself an online business!”
It sounds great in theory. In practice, it’s a whole other deal.
The problem with most online business advice: It assumes perfect motivation.
It assumes you can simply follow a series of steps, and end up with a validated idea.
Nevermind whether that idea interests you. And these validation tricks don’t always translate to success once the business launches.
Most importantly, who is to say you can follow these steps? If you are a curious person with hair-trigger motivation, it’s not just boring – it’s darn near impossible.
My name is David Kadavy.
I woke up on my first day of self employment with only one mission: to follow my curiosity.
Fifteen years later, I have written three best-selling books – available in seven languages – and my podcast has been downloaded more than a million times. I’ve spoken in eight countries around the world, and I live in South America.
Reading books and having conversations with heroes such as Seth Godin and James Altucher is a big part of my job. Nearly any topic that interests me, I can find a way to follow it, and incorporate it into my work. My business is my own “personal PhD” program.
I did not get here by following a series of steps.
I did not carefully build "Minimum Viable Products," “validate" my ideas, then “pivot” to a new idea whenever that didn’t work.
I got here by trusting that if I followed my curiosity, it would all work out in the end.
Honestly, this is definitely not the "optimal" way to build an online business. To this day, I try things all of the time that don’t work. To this day, I get interested in new projects, only to abandon them for another, more interesting project.
But, for me, this is the only way to build an online business. Because it’s simply the only way the work will get done. It might be the best way for you, too.
Does this sound like you?
- You’re hopelessly curious. You have a wide variety of interests.
- You get “shiny object syndrome.” You sometimes feel guilty for not being able to “focus” on one thing at a time.
- You have hair-trigger motivation. If you get excited about an idea, you can go at it full force. If you get bored, you’re done.
This is what I’m like. I spent many years beating myself up for not being more “disciplined,” or “conscientious.”
I watched jealously as one friend after another became wildly successful. "Why can’t I be more like them?," I thought. It took me a long time to learn something very important:
Your curiosity is not a curse.
Your curiosity is powerful fuel that you can harness to build a life and business that nobody else can build.
In Blog 2 BLING! I share my secrets to building a business driven by your curiosities. It’s not a step-by-step formula. It’s more of a framework.
The Blog 2 BLING! methodology works like this:
- Follow what interests you.
- Through the process of following those interests, you collect valuable market research.
- “Stack" one skill at a time, while building income streams.

*Individual results will vary. This takes a lot of work, and it will be different for everyone.
Blog 2 BLING! isn’t about "following your passion."
